The Cisco PIX has been a staple of many government and commercial organizations IT infrastructure for years, being one of the very first firewall devices of its class.  As the PIX has now been replaced by the Cisco ASA-series devices (as of 2008), many companies are running into a curious problem using their PIX as a VPN access device.
